Foreigners are exempt as of 1st January 2010 from obtaining approval from the Foreign Investment Committee (FIC) for the purchase of residential property exceeding RM500,000.00. per unit. Purchase of Commercial units such as Shop-Lots / Shop-Houses / Shop-Offices / Office-Space, Industrial Land and Agricultural Land for special purposes exceeding RM500,000.00. shall also be exempt from FIC Approval, however ALL property aquisitions shall require the relevant State Consent. Your agent will best advise you on the matter.
